Both of these remix promotions are powered by a tool that MixMatchMusic has released called the Remix Wizard. The remix wizard is a free and highly customizable widget that allows any artist to host interactive remix promotion on any of their web properties (myspace, blogs, ets). The widget allows for remixing to occur either in our online sequencer, or the stems can be download for remixing in desktop software. Once a remix is made, it is published to the widget for other fans to play, vote on, and share. This is similar to the promotion Radiohead had last April, but adds an online sequencer so that anybody can get involved in the remixing! The secret machines are a fine rock band,now they started a GarageBand remix contest. Third Eye Blind is asking Indaba members to inspire them and participate in the band’s creative process as they complete their upcoming album, Ursa Major. Here’s the deal. As 3EB finishes laying down tracks, the band will post unmixed instrument stems for you to tweak, shape, and edit through a series of contests. They want to hear your vision for their songs.
